Government Advocacy

JVC works with governmental agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Department of State and Departments of Consumer Affairs to educate these agencies on what the trade wants and needs. JVC is often asked by governmental agencies to provide comments prior to the enactment or revision of rules and regulations.

Education & Guidance

Our members have access to education on topics applicable to all sectors of the jewelry industry. We provide education through our webinars, sessions at industry trade shows and events around the U.S. We offer publications that can help you understand how legal issues apply to your businesses. By supporting JVC, you support our presence at national and international forums and support our industry-improving conversations with governmental and non-governmental entities responsible for setting the rules and standards for jewelry businesses.

Our members receive free education on the complex laws that apply to the manufacturing, advertising and sale of jewelry. JVC provides up-to-the-minute information about changes to the national and local laws that apply to the jewelry industry and our team is available to answer questions about how these laws apply to your daily business practices.

Low Cost Mediation

We assist consumers and members with jewelry purchase-related disputes through our Mediation program. Our Mediation Program fosters voluntary resolutions to all kinds disputes, from non-disclosure of treatment to diamonds to faulty manufacturing claims, and more.

Monitoring

JVC urges jewelry industry businesses to comply with all relevant local, state, federal and international laws. When a pattern or practice of non-compliance is detected, JVC will refer the matter to appropriate law enforcement officials. We also bring legal action ourselves, where appropriate. Our main focus is education and encouraging legal compliance through a greater understanding of the laws and regulations that apply to the jewelry industry.

The JVC Seal

JVC members are encouraged to utilize the JVC logo in their store fronts, website and other forms of advertising. Each member receives a double-sided door decal to place at the front door or on a window, and each JVC member is listed on the JVC website.
